Frequently Asked Questions About Trading Card Gifts

What do you get a Pokémon fan?

That depends on their age and whether they collect or play. Children will love top trainer boxes, tins, or blister packs featuring popular Pokémon. Adult collectors are more likely to want a booster display box, Japanese sets, or a graded card. A high-quality binder is perfect for any fan. You can find a selection in our Pokémon gifts.

Which Pokémon cards make good gifts for children?

For children, German decks with fixed content are best: A Top Trainer Box contains booster packs, card sleeves, and dice, a battle deck is ready to play immediately, and tins or blister packs are affordable introductory gifts. The Pokémon Trading Card Game is recommended for ages 6 and up. Expensive collectible products or graded cards are usually less practical for younger children.

Which trading cards are suitable as a gift for beginners?

Products that include everything you need to get started are ideal. Starter decks and beginner boxes are ready to play right away and explain the rules. If you prefer collecting, start with a top-tier trainer box or a few booster packs and a binder. Pokémon and Disney Lorcana are especially beginner-friendly. Magic: The Gathering has its own beginner boxes.

What do you give someone who already owns a lot of trading cards?

Experienced collectors often already have the common products. Special items are always a hit: a graded card of their favorite Pokémon, a booster box from a brand-new set, Japanese editions, or a high-quality zippered binder. If you're unsure, a cardcosmos gift card is the safe choice – that way, the person can choose something themselves.

What can I give a Magic player as a gift?

Magic players will love products they can use right away. Commander decks are the most popular – ready-to-play 100-card decks for the multiplayer format of the same name. Bundles contain booster packs and accessories, while collector boosters are perfect for collectors. Card sleeves, a deck box, or a playmat are almost always a good choice. You can find a selection in our Magic: The Gathering gifts.

What trading card gifts are available for under 20 euros?

For under €20, you’ll find individual booster packs, blister packs with promo cards, small tins, and accessories such as card sleeves, toploaders, and magnetic card holders. These gifts are perfect as stocking fillers, for an Advent calendar, or as an add-on to a larger gift. You can see all available ideas in our trading card gifts under €20.

What is the difference between booster packs and display boxes?

A booster is a single pack containing usually 5 to 15 random cards from an expansion. A display is the original box containing many booster packs from the same expansion—in the case of German Pokémon displays, for example, 36 packs. Displays are ideal for collectors who want to open a large number of packs or complete a set. An Elite Trainer Box sits somewhere in between: several booster packs plus accessories in a gift box.

Are German or English Pokémon cards better as a gift?

For children and beginners, German cards are usually the best choice because they can read the text themselves. Experienced collectors, on the other hand, often buy English or Japanese cards, partly because some sets are only released in certain languages. If you're not sure, ask discreetly – or simply select "German Only" in the gift finder.

Can I give trading cards as a gift, even if I don't know much about them?

Yes. Our gift finder asks for age, favorite game, and budget without using technical jargon, and briefly explains what each recommended product is. If you don't know which cards the person collects, accessories such as a card binder, top loader, or card sleeves are a safe bet—they work with any game. You can find a selection in our accessory gifts.

Are the proposed products available for immediate delivery?

Yes. The gift finder only shows products that are currently in stock – pre-orders are excluded. We check the price and availability of the displayed recommendations live again just before they are displayed.

What happens if the gift doesn't fit?

Our return and complaint policy applies. If you have any questions, our team will be happy to help.
